On August 22, 2025, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada will eliminate all retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods covered under the Canada–U.S.–Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), effective September 1, 2025. This action will remove the 25% retaliatory tariff currently in place covering apparel made in the US and exported to Canada, provided they are USMCA/CUSMA-compliant. Canadian Apparel Insights Retail Apparel Update Aritzia’s Canadian sales increased 17.0% in its Q1 2025. Canada’s largest apparel e-commerce retailers in 2024 were Shein, lululemon, Aritzia and Amazon. Canadian 2024 luxury apparel/accessory sales declined 2.7% to C$2.72 billion. Canada’s athleisure market increased by 4.6% in 2024. Lululemon during 2024 sourced 40% of its products from Vietnam, 17% from Cambodia, 11% from Sri Lanka, 11% from Indonesia, 7% from Bangladesh and the remaining 14% from other countries.
