On November 20, 2024, the Tents Regulations (SOR/2024-217) under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act were published in Canada Gazette , Part II. Consequential amendments to the Toys Regulations add fire-safety labeling and flammability performance requirements for children's play tents (“toys intended to be entered by a child”). Health Canada: children's sleepwear recall

The recalled Pehr Designs Inc. Kimono Rompers do not comply with the flammability requirements for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children. Loose-fitting children’s sleepwear can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more readily than tight-fitting sleepwear, and once ignited will burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child’s body. Competition Bureau announces some details of their greenwashing review.

The Canadian government recently introduced changes to the Competition Act which will have a substantial impact on sustainability claims made by Canadian companies.
