EURATEX, CTIA and CAF Call for Stronger EU-Canada Textile and Apparel Cooperation

EURATEX, CTIA and CAF Call for Stronger EU-Canada Textile and Apparel Cooperation

On the eve of the Canada-European Union summit, the CAF, CTIA and Euratex have called for actions to boost trade and innovation between Canada and Europe.

The three associations urged EU Member States that have not yet ratified the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) to complete the process, and called for clear, simple guidance so more small and medium-sized enterprises can claim available tariff preferences. The associations also support joint research and industrial partnerships in technical textiles, advanced materials, circularity and recycling, along with regulatory cooperation on traceability, eco-design and standards. This statement builds on the joint policy statements EURATEX signed with CAF and CTIA in April 2026, which launched the EU-Canada Textile and Apparel Dialogue.
