Apparel Textile Sourcing Canada (ATS) brought Canadian brands, importers and retailers together with hundreds of manufacturers across 200+ booths at The International Centre in Toronto on September 23–25, followed by a matchmaking day at the Palais des Congrès de Montréal on September 28. This marked the 11th anniversary of the first ATS event in Toronto.
CAF Executive Director Bob Kirke delivered the Canadian Apparel International Trade Update, and joined the “Tariffs and Trade in Flux” panel featuring CAF Strategic Partner - WRAP. The session focused on new forced labour legislation, Bill C-35, and its impact on sourcing. Other highlights included a fireside chat with Robin Yates of Nobis. Kirke noted that Canadian companies are “much more global in our sourcing and in our sales than we were 11 years ago,” and expects imminent free trade agreements with India and Indonesia to shape where they source next.
