Madi is a practical and solution-driven lawyer, advising clients on a range of Environment, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) matters. Madi advises on opportunities and risks relating to ESG topics and assists clients to fulfill their ESG strategies. Madi has both private practice and in-house legal experience, and prior to joining KPMG, served as ESG Legal Counsel to one of Canada's largest banks. 


Madi has experience in advising various business functions on topical ESG issues, including disclosure risks (e.g., greenwashing and disclosure due diligence), ESG governance (e.g., policy development and training), and ESG regulatory and legal compliance (e.g., Modern Slavery Act reporting). Madi has also advised clients on environmental compliance matters, environmental litigation, energy law, and Indigenous legal issues. As an environmental litigator, she supported clients from start-to-finish through the litigation process and represented clients before Ontario Courts and Tribunals. 


Madi has experience working with a variety of clients across multiple industries including forestry, financial services, and transportation. Clients she has worked with include businesses, municipalities, First Nations, Crown corporations, and individuals.

Emma Brennen is a restricted materials specialist with Claigan Environmental, with a primary focus on apparel and medical devices.  She has been with Claigan for 8 years, and has a BioChemistry education background with a specialization in Synthetic Material Design.

 

Emma has extensive knowledge into PFAS and related regulations, such as CEPA, Canadian Plastics, TSCA, and the Minnesota PFAS Registration. She brings to the table a full understanding of PFAS at the substance and molecular level as well.  With the ever-changing compliance landscape, you can count on her and the Claigan team to be up to date on

Dr. Min Zhu is at the helm of SGS North American Softlines technical and operation teams with an impressive 20-year track record in textile research, product development, performance evaluation, and technical marketing. She drives the development of cutting-edge testing programs and global harmonization, and implement SGS Softlines policies, governance, new services and technical initiatives.


Prior to SGS, Dr. Zhu worked with global companies including BASF, Cotton Incorporated, TAL Apparel Ltd. in various roles and taught as an Assistant Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Dr. Zhu is an active member of AATCC, ASTM, AAFA and other global and industry standard organizations on behalf of SGS.
