The Canadian Apparel Federation, in partnership with Miller Thomson, Carson International and ArentFox Schiff, is pleased to host an exclusive seminar in Vancouver. This high-level event will feature legal and trade experts from both Canada and the United States, and provide an important spource of information on the confusing trade dynamic faced by Canadian brands and retailers..

The program will feature in-depth discussions on:

  • U.S. Tariffs and Trade Compliance – including potential strategies for duty minimization.

  • Canadian Trade Policy and Compliance – with a comparison of key strategies and implications for cross-border business.

This seminar is designed to provide practical guidance on navigating today’s complex trade environment and will offer valuable networking opportunities with peers and experts alike.

Satinder is a Trade & Customs consultant for Miller Thomson, LLP in Vancouver. Satinder has close to twenty years of work experience working in the Trade & Customs environment. He provides advice to clients on various customs programs (Valuation, Classification, Origin, Import & Export Controls, and Sanctions). Satinder’s service for clients includes developing duty minimization strategies, mitigating customs risk, customs duty recovery, assessing NAFTA eligibility for goods, requesting Customs Ruling from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), helping clients navigate through countervailing and antidumping investigations, Appeals and assisting lawyers develop arguments to be heard at the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT).


Satinder worked for the CBSA as a Trade Verification Officer as well as a Trade & Customs consultant for two large public accounting firms.
